Not checking for mold
Mold can be a serious issue in homes and can cause health problems. It’s important for new home buyers to not make the mistake and not check for mold during the home inspection and to have any mold issues addressed
before closing. The inspection engineers at Middle Tennessee Inspections are certified by the international Association of Certified Indoor Air Consultants. In most cases the mold that we find, often in a crawlspace, is very minor and we will usually recommend better ventilation such as a fan or dehumidifier. Rarely is it more. Radon is usually not an issue in South Middle Tennessee and the state does offer a free test kit. While we are certified to lab test for radon we recommend using the free test first. We always recommend replacing all smoke and carbon monoxide detectors as well.
